The Power To Be Tea serves as an anchor activity of A Woman's Business, an international outreach to mobilize dynamic women of all faiths, cultures, professions, generations and perspectives to build a platform that restores the image of women around the world and returns us to a position of prominence. Featuring women representing media, business, politics, non-profits and home, the Power To Be Tea seeks to highlight how women are perceived around the world, address the many ways we are underrepresented and misrepresented and showcase the impact we can have when we unite our voices, hands, feet and money to address causes of interest to and affecting women. Following the discussion, we present our annual LeadHERaward, recognizing an individual who in our eyes is about A Woman's Business to change the perception and restore the position of women around the world.

Since its creation in 2013, the event has sold out every year, attracting 300 attendees and hundreds more online who watch the conference streamed live on our website www.awomansbusiness.org. Past panelists include CBS-TV reporter Jericka Duncan; actress, advocate and author of Redefining Diva Sheryl Lee Ralph; Philadelphia Councilwoman at- large Blondell Reynolds Brown; NJ Assemblywoman Gabriela Mosquera; Anti-trafficking Advocate Kelly Master; Mompreneur Cheryl Woods; Uniquely You Summit Founder Shaleah Lache’ Sutton; wife and mother Kim Trethewey; legendary Broadcast Pioneer Trudy Haynes; Carol’s Daughter Founder Lisa Price; Legendary Basketball Player, Sports Commentator Valerie Still of “Mom’s Got Game” appearing on OWN; Conquering Hell in High Heels Founder Kim Pothier aka Real Talk Kim; and Angela M. Brown, Founder of A Woman's Business.

Scheduled this year for Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 11 am - 2 pm at The Palace in Blackwood, New Jersey, this year’s theme is “Dream Deferred” to inspire and equip women to overcome disappointment and barriers to fulfilling their God-given dreams, featuring legendary PHILADANCO Founder Joan Myers Brown; Teen Shop Founder & Former KYW3-TV Reporter Elleanor Jean Hendley; Buzz Marketing Founder & CEO Tina Wells; Former NBC 10 Reporter, Cancer Survivor and “I Dare Me” Author Lu Ann Cahn; and A Woman’s Business Founder Angela M. Brown, among other dynamic women.

In response to demand, we’ve added a power-packed line-up of morning workshops beginning at 9 a.m. before the tea and panel discussion. Tickets are available for purchase online at $60 per person to attend the tea and panel discussion only, or just $75 to attend the morning workshops, tea AND panel discussion.
